If you are still working on your list, don't stop! There is a good chance we will be offering the challenge again next year.
For years we have been do our annual gratitude challenge which offers a FULL ROLL of limited release Harmony Art organic fabric to the first person to submit their gratitude list. (FULL DETAILS HERE) It took until November of 2010 for the first winner (Tania) to come forward. It took until March of 2012 for our next winner (Terri) to emerge. This year in serious record time Mary & friends completed the list and selected Silent Stumps Sateen for their roll (pictured above). For the last few nights I have read 100 items each night after dinner. What fun. Thank you Mary. I hope you enjoy the fabric! If you are still working on your list, don't stop! There is a good chance we will be offering the challenge again next year. 1 Comment The winners from last week's Pink Fabric Giveaway are Kristy and Beatrix. They have been notified by email. THANK YOU to everyone who participated. Are you curious to find out how I picked? Well, it was all very scientific. Well, actually, my husband and I have been doing our I Ching every morning lately so we decided to let the coins decide. His readings this morning were 37 changing to 17. Since we didn't have that many entries, we added the numbers together to get 10 and 8. Not familiar with the I Ching? It's an ancient Chinese text that is full of wisdom and advice on how to face life's challenges and changes. I am personally a fan of Brian Browne Walker's interpretation. (Like the Bible it has many different translations.) I have been a user of the I Ching for the last oh... 12 years or so. I hold the I Ching personally responsible for keeping me sane through several challenging times. In other exciting news... TODAY is Harmony Grace's (my namesake's) 1st birthday. Wish I could beam to New York to join in the children's musical jam session happening tonight. sigh. This video is longer than most (18 minutes). I am posting it in hopes that AB 1998 gets voted on and passed today... it's our last chance for this session of the State Senate.... fingers are crossed. Thanks Green Bag Lady for turning us on to this video. On a MUCH happier note, last week my namesake Harmony Grace and her family came for a visit from Albany, NY. We had a grand time. Here are a picture I just couldn't resist sharing with you. Are they (Mary and Harmony Grace) cute or what?! I spent the last week in Albany, NY getting to know my sweet little name- sake: Harmony Grace. (In case you were wondering, my middle name is Joy.) I am in love. She is such a sweet, alert, fun baby! She is pictured here wearing a hooded towel from Itty Bitty Spitty. A gift made by the incredibly talented Green Bag Lady. In the next picture, note the Eyes of the World booties I commissioned from SK Naturals. Harmony also has been enjoying a Blessed Nest nursing pillow and an Alphabet Soup hat from Handmade Naturals. Oh, and her mother wore a Garden print Hot Mama Gown when she was in the hospital. If I can't be there to hold her every day, at least she will be surrounded by Harmony Art organic fabrics! I am smitten..... sigh... There is nothing like a wee little one to put life into perspective. Thanks Harmony! I miss you already. I met Harmony Grace for the first time in the Albany airport. Did you know the Albany airport has an art gallery in it? The first thing Big Harmony & Little Harmony (and Mary!) did together was check out the current display called Material Witness. It is all about discarded materials being reused to create art. So, Harmony's first art show at 9 weeks old was recycled art. How cool is that! It couldn't have been more perfect. Here's a photo I took of one of the sections. Sorry, I don't have the name of the artist to give credit to but the show was produced in cooperation with the Rensselaer Schools of Architecture, and Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. |
